Genshin Impact

F2P: Yes with in game purchases and Gacha mechanics for characters and weapons. From what we've heard, it's very F2P friendly.

Genshin Impact is a massive open world anime style RPG which you can play solo or with up to 3 friends in one session. The game mechanics allow you to switch between 4 equipped characters which 2 skills each to give your combat style variety and strategic builds. In the multiplayer co-op mode, up to 3 of your friends will be able to join your world. If there are 4 players in the same world, you will only be able to use one character.

The game has a Gacha system for unlocking new characters and weapons which does not necessarily imply pay to win but potentially a pay to progress faster or pay to have variety. The game was on closed beta and many content producers had a chance to try it, take a look on Youtube to find videos which may give you a sense whether this game will be for you.

Based on the classic Diablo series now customised for iOS and Android. A multiplayer action RPG that let's you choose between a barbarian, monk, necromancer, demon hunter, wizard and crusader all with different growth paths and builds which you can customise. The game play will focus on a dark story with demons and monsters while finding powerful gear for your character. It has been in the news for awhile and has built a lot of hype with Diablo and RPG fans, we expect this one to be a big hit!

Path of Exile Mobile

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases for cosmetic only. The developers have made it clear they do not want any P2W features in this game.

Genre: ARPG

Release Date: TBD 2021

This is my personal most anticipated game on mobile as I was a huge fan of Path of Exile on the PC. The development team has mentioned this will be very similar to the PC version but optimised for mobile. The game will be very similar to Diablo in terms of character customisation, combat mechanics, gear oriented progression and dark story lore. There will be multiplayer so grab your friends and combat through monsters together!

Summoners War: Chronicles

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes but will have in app purchases.

Genre: MMORPG

Release Date: End of 2020

This has such a nostalgic feeling for us as it was one of the first MMORPGs on mobile that really grabbed our attention. I can tell you right now that many people are waiting for this to release so expect a large player base. This anime style MMORPG is a prequel to the original game taking on a story 70 years before the first title. Adventure through the massive Summoners War world solo or with friends while expecting large monsters and massive events which you and many people around the world can gather to challenge!

Dauntless Mobile

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Most likely free to play with IAP

Genre: Action and Adventure

Dauntless Mobile is an action RPG based on it's counterparts on PC and game consoles. The game has a great customisation on gear progression by letting you craft weapons yourself from the materials you get from slaying monsters. This game has multiplayer co-op mode so you can choose to play with friends and fighting different behemoths.

As of late, the development team has actually put the mobile version on hold to focus more on the core game. Do not lose hope yet as many of these newly added changes and features will translate well into the mobile version.

CODE: Live

Created by the same team who brought us PUBG, CODE: Live is a third-person survival game. Survive against zombies by leveraging your environment and tools while progressing to find shelter. Genre: MMORPG

Release Date: 2021

Warhammer Odyssey is a MMORPG based on the Warhammer franchise. The game is currently in closed beta with 6 playable characters, a witch hunter, Warrior Priest, Archmage, Engineer, Shadow Warrior, and Slayer. Right now all we know is the game will give you access to customising your characters on creation and through cosmetics, there will be a cash shop for convenience items and cosmetics and that there will not be any pay to win aspects to the game. This is definitely a game to keep your eye on as the developers are steering away from your typical mobile MMORPG.

Pokémon Unite

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes but may have IAP for characters and skins.

Genre: MOBA

Release Date: End of 2020

We are fairly excited about this title as we are big Pokémon fans here, we can't wait to try Pikachu's thunder! Pokémon Unite is the first MOBA of the franchise which will allow players to fight against each other in a 5 vs 5 arena. If you are used to League of Legends or Mobile Legends, this may be slightly different for you as there are no turrets and only has 2 lanes, ultimately forcing more Pokémon on Pokémon battles. Other than the 2 differences mentioned, the game seems fairly similar to standard MOBA games.

Icarus M: Riders of Icarus

This mobile MMORPG is based on the Riders of Icarus game on PC but optimised for mobile devices. The game has familiar mechanics to popular mobile MMORPGs such as Black Desert Mobile and Dragon Raja with beautiful character customisation and some auto play. The game has a large focus on companions and mounts called Familiars. The combat system features a combo system and skill link system to pair attacks with other players. We would like to let you know that this game will most likely have pay to win features and may deter some players.

Plants vs Zombies 3

A cute tower defence game where you must defeat the zombies by placing different plants with various abilities. READ: The In-Depth A3: Still Alive Upcoming Battle Royale MMORPG

A3 Still Alive is based on the Korean PC game A3. The game itself may look like a typical MMORPG but it has a very unique spin on the theme with an open world battle royale mechanic. That means players must always be careful of other players who aren't in the party as PvP will be very prominent in this game. The game will have a good blend of PvE and PvP while featuring popular game modes such as world bosses, castle siege, and some other ones many players will be familiar with.

APEX Legends Mobile

The team who brought you APEX Legends is now porting their successful title to iOS and Android. APEX Legends Mobile is a battle royale shooter similar to Fortnite and PUBG. There isn't much news on this title yet but we know the team is working on this and hoping for a 2021 mobile release.

NieR Re[in]carnation

NieR Re[in]carnation will feature a beautiful storyline and multi character development system. The combat system will be turn based like the original Final Fantasy titles letting you control up to 3 characters at once. There will also be a gacha system which will let you spin to win for characters and gear. All we know is a lot of hard work has went into this to make it a beautiful game along with a beautiful storyline. We are really liking this new wave of mobile games that is breaking through what seems like a ceiling in mobile gaming creativity.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: TBD

Genre: Augmented Reality RPG

Release Date: End of 2020

Picture Pokemon Go with monsters that you will need to fight. The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be a unique title to use the latest AR technologies in gaming to provide gamers with yet another new experience.
