ALL A3: Still Alive GUIDES

Introduction

The Templar class in A3: Still Alive is one of the best all around classes because of its high sustainability, crowd control, team buffs and immunity skills. In this guide, I am going to show you how to build Templar for both PvE and PvP in A3 Still Alive end game and become an ultimate teammate and a fearsome foe.

Why This Build is Good for PvE:

  • You give yourself and your team huge damage buffs that will melt bosses quicker.

  • You are able to tank and draw aggro away from squishy members on your team.

  • You are able to debuff and crowd control enemies / bosses to increase the survivability of you and your team.

  • Despite being the most tanky, you will still be able to do very good damage.

Why This Build is Good for PvP:

  • You can chain stun, debuff and crowd control other players to the point that they can't do anything but die.

  • You get debuff immunities and unstoppable effect which makes it very difficult for enemies to crowd control you.

  • You can easily lock down enemy team carries for your soul linker or teammates to kill.

Templar's Role in PvE

Your main role in PvE is to tank and debuff the boss and monsters while applying buffs to your team. Time your Blessed Gladiator which is your aggro skill well so you can pull the boss back to you when it starts attacking the squishies on your team. However, don't be confused - because in A3 Still Alive, even the tank can do some serious damage especially with a high damage Soul Linker.

Templar's Role in PvP

Your main role in PvP is to be a stun/cc/debuff BOT that will keep enemies frustrated and basically unplayable. You can chain stun and CC them to the point where they can't do anything but just stand there and get killed. This is why having a high DPS soul linker is great for Templars because they can do the damage while you keep enemies disabled.

Best Soul Linkers for Templar

I am sure as you know, Soul Linkers play a core function in A3 Still Alive, and choosing who to use will play a pivotal role in your Templar build. Make sure to invest into one of each type of Soul Linker for PvE and 3 high damage Soul Linkers for PvP. For more information on Soul Linkers, visit the full guide. I've included both Heroic and Legendary Soul Linkers because not everyone will be able to get a Legendary that easily.

Soul Linkers for PvE

The best PvE Soul Linkers for Templar are the balanced ones that has good DPS and help you sustain damage.

Legendary for PvE

ATK - Rinon - For his huge AOE and DOT. Take Airburst Fire which is really good at chunking away at bosses.

DEF - Pobart - For his huge damage reduction and taunt. Take Hot Shield as the common skill to boost your defence.

SUP - Ellian for his heal, debuff removal and reduced damage. Take Wow, a Sword as the common skill to buff attack and crit rate.

Heroic for PvE

ATK - Hecamione for her high damage and stun. Take Maximize as the common skill to keep her crit maxed out.

DEF - Europia for her high damage, taunt and sustainability. Take Shift Stance as common skill for high damage output.

SUP - Chotaring for his heal and defence buff. Take Fire Energy as a common skill to increase attack. OR Veneone for her huge shield and one of the most OP common skills in the game, "Fire!" for the permanent 36.4% crit rate AND crit damage buff.

Soul Linkers for PvP

The best PvP Soul Linkers for Templar are ones who deal high damage and also have debuffs/CC to match the CC skills of the Templar.

Legendary for PvP

ATK - Belaus for her high damage and take Crazed Spin as a common skill to further increase her damage.

DEF - Raziel for his crowd control and movement debuff. Take Power of Corruption as the common skill for more damage and taunts the enemy.

SUP - Ellian for his heal, debuff removal and reduced damage. Take Wow, a Sword as the common skill to buff attack and crit rate.

Heroic for PvP

ATK - Hecamione for her high damage and stun. Take Maximize as the common skill to keep her crit maxed out or Twister for another stun (But you probably don't need this since you already have a lot of stuns.

DEF - Europia for her high damage and sustainability. Keep Shift Stance as common skill to have high damage output.

SUP - Chotaring for his heal and defence buff. Take Fire Energy as a common skill to increase attack. OR Veneone for her huge shield and one of the most OP common skills in the game, "Fire!" for the permanent 36.4% crit rate AND crit damage buff.

Skills

With the Templar class in PvE, you will want skills that buffs your team, debuffs the enemy and does the most damage with the shortest cooldowns. As for PvP, you will want skills that buffs your team and can chain stun/cc your enemies while your Soul Linker and teammates do huge damage.

Skill Setup and Rotation For PvE (Mostly vs Bosses)

1. Start each battle with using Rallying Cry to boost the attack of you and your party.

2. Grab the boss aggro with Blessed Gladiator.

3. Put down Guardian's Domain and Punisher's Domain to decrease the damage taken and increase the damage dealt by you and your allies.

4. Use Unyielding Unit to deal massive damage and lower the enemy's magic resist.

5. Follow up with your damage skills, Judgement and Righteous Assault.

6. Only use you Wings of Revenge if you can tank the boss fairly easily, otherwise, save it for when you're in a tough situation as it makes you invincible.

7. When you notice you're losing aggro on the boss, use Blessed Gladiator to get aggro back.

Skill Setup and Rotation For PvP

1. Start with Rallying Cry for the damage buff and Iron Clad the damage reflection and unstoppable buff.

2. Use Wings of Redemption for the debuff immunity if you noticed you're getting a lot of debuffs on you.

3. Use Confinement if enemies start to run away.

4. Use Divine Punishment and Wings of Revenge to stun enemy - You can stun them back to back but time it well because each skill has a 3 second stun.

5. If the enemies begins to attack you, use Condemn to blind them or Brave Truth-Seeker to silence them.

6. Finally, if you're in a bad spot and you're getting focused, use Wings of Revenge to become invincible and waste the enemy's skills.

Character Stats Prioritisation

Templars needs to have a very balanced build as they will need to be the tank while doing damage. Therefore we are going to invest in both offence and defence that can be applied to PvP and PvE.

The main stats we are looking for:

Magic Attack

Magic Penetration

Physical DEF (Put more focus on Physical DEF because you will naturally get more Magic DEF as a templar)

Magic DEF

HP

Additional stats that can be helpful:

Magical Crit Success

Magical and Physical EVA

Magical and Physical Crit EVA

PvE or PvP Damage Increase

Decrease PvE or PvP damage taken

The major things you can do to enhance your character's stats are:

  • Using higher tier magic stones

  • Register more Codex

  • Upgrading your Sanctuary

  • Upgrading your Apostle Fragments

  • Enhancing your Attribution Runes from Soul Linkers

  • Finding better gear

  • Enhance passive skills

Gear

For the current end game (Level 100) you will want to craft gear in your guild hall or farm the end game equipment dungeons for level 100 Ancient Star gear/Weapon. You are looking for items with 3 sockets and 5 sub stats. For the best sub stats, refer to the stat section above.

Accessories

Similar to gear, you will want to farm Heroic Accessories in equipment dungeon or pull for Ancient accessories. If you get your heroic accessories, you can upgrade them into Ancient and ultimately Legendary. Accessories have an accessory Substat that affects damage for either PvE or PvP - this is why you will need 2 sets of accessories. (One for PvP and one for PvE) You are looking for accessories with 3 sockets and 4 sub stats. For the best sub stats, refer to the stat section above.
