A3 Still Alive: Ultimate Battle Royale Guide
A3 Still Alive Attribute Runes Guide
ALL A3: Still Alive GUIDES
The Wizard class in A3: Still Alive is for players who wants to do massive burst damage while having access to an array of stun and CC skills to lock down your enemies. This guide will show you everything you need to know about building the Wizard class as a DPS class including skills, items, Soul Linkers, and more for the end game in A3 Still Alive.
Why This Build is Good for PvE:
You will always be one of the top damage scorers on your team due to your huge burst damage.
All of your skills are long ranged which allows you to stay in the back and not get hit while you unleash your entire skill rotation on the enemy.
You have an incredible self buff that gives you bonus damage and cooldown reduction.
Why This Build is Good for PvP:
The wizard class has an overwhelming amount of stuns, debuffs and crowd control skills to lock down single and groups of enemies.
You have huge AOE abilities that deal insane amounts of damage which means you can wipe out an entire team by yourself in group PvP.
You can easily kill your opponents in under 1 skill rotation.
Wizard's Role in both PvE and PvP
The typical role of a Wizard in most games is to deal as much AOE damage as possible from the back lines, and this is no different in A3 Still Alive. Your role is to stay in a safe area while continuously dropping all of your skills in the rotation from this guide and dealing as much damage as possible. You will also have access to a wide range of stuns/crowd control skills to keep enemies from attacking or running away. You will be the target everyone wants to kill first so make sure to stay in a safe or protected area.
Best Soul Linkers for Wizards in A3 Still Alive
Soul Linkers are a crucial part of A3 Still Alive and they will have a significant impact on your performance in the game. This section will tell you the exact Soul Linkers to pick for Wizard so you can get the most out of these companions. First you will need to understand you every player will need to invest in an Attack, Support and Defensive Soul Linker to be able to progress through the game. For more information on Soul Linkers, visit the full Soul Linker guide. We will be going over the best Heroic and Legendary Soul Linkers for PvE and PvP. (Since Legendary Soul Linkers aren't readily available for 99% of players as they are extremely difficult/expensive to obtain)
Best Soul Linkers for Wizards for Both PvE and PvP
We won't be breaking down the best Soul Linkers for PvE and PvP and instead will be finding the best one that can meet your needs for both modes since it gets rather resource heavy upgrading them.
Best Legendary Soul Linkers for Wizards
ATTACK Soul Linker: Use Belaus for her massive damage and her common skill "Crazed Spin" for an even further boost. Only use Belaus if you need it against monsters or a boss that has a weakness to Attack Soul Linkers.
DEFENCE Soul Linker: Use Pobart for his incredible defence buffs and double aggro pull. Burning Spear Strike is an insane skill that reduces damage taken by almost 80% and taunts for 7 seconds while dealing huge damage. Take Dragon Energy for another taunt while signifcantly increasing Pobart's defence and slightly increasing his attack. Only use Pobart if you need it against monsters or a boss that has a weakness to Defence Soul Linkers.
SUPPORT Soul Linker: Use Ellian as your MAIN Soul Linker (On for every scenario) as his ultimate will remove debuffs from you, heal you and reduce the damage you take. Use the common skill "Wow, a Sword" to get a massive damage, crit rate and accuracy team buff that can be activated permanently with some passive enhancements.
Best Heroic Soul Linkers for Wizards - See the Heroic Soul Linker Tier List
ATTACK Soul Linker: Use Hecamione for her double stun which combined with the Wizard will permanently stun your opponents making this a very broken combination. Naturally you should be taking "Twister" as the common skill since it stuns an enemy for 2.1 seconds every 14 seconds. However, Hecamione should only be used in 1v1 PvP and against bosses/monsters weak against Attack type Soul Linkers.
DEFENCE Soul Linker: Use Europia because she is by far the best defence Heroic Soul Linker and can dish out a good amount of damage while remaining very tanky. Her ultimate gives her a very good damage boost and a 10% life steal effect while her common skill "Shift Stance" significantly boosts her defence and damage. She is a great tank for the Wizard class but should only be used against monsters/bosses that are weak against defensive soul linkers.
SUPPORT Soul Linker: Use Veneone as your main Soul Linker because of her insane common skill "Fire!" that can be boosted with passives to be a permanent 36.4% critical strike and critical damage buff for your character and her. This buff alone will make you deal a significantly higher damage than you normally would. Her ultimate is also not bad for when you are being targeted as it will give you a shield.
The best Shu for Wizards is Patella or Olche, the good thing about Olche is it exists in every rarity so you can use the higher tier you have of him. The substats you will want to get (refer to stats section below) are Magical Attack, Magical Crit. Success, Magical Penetration, Magical Crit. Damage Increase, and Magical Accuracy.
This guide covers 3 skill setups, one for PvE for killing bosses, one for PvE to AFK farm dungeons and one for general PvP.
Skill Setup and Rotation For PvE vs Bosses
1. Always begin each boss battle with using Maximize Spell to get the magic attack buff and cooldown reduction buff.
2. Follow up Focused Disintegration to deal large damage while reducing the enemy's magical defence. This skill only has a 15 second cooldown so it should be back up for your next skill rotation.
3. Freezing shield should be a manual invincibility skill that you only use when you are stuck in a situation where you can't avoid an attack.
4. Now you can drop the other 5 skills (Meteor Shower, Meteor, Disintegrate, Lightning Orb and Frost Thorn) for massive damage.
5. Use manual attacks if everything else is on cooldown and you should be able to get two Frost Thorn on the enemy in every rotation due to its low 10 second cooldown.
Skill Setup and Rotation For PvE Farming Mobs
1. Similar to the boss skill rotation, start off with Maximize Spell to get the damage and cooldown reduction buff.
2. Use Shock Zone to pull enemy's to the center and right away use Focused Disintegration to deal huge damage while lowering their resist. These two skills goes very well together as they both have 15 second cooldowns (will be even lower when Maximize Spell is activated).
3. Meteor Shower and Meteor will be used to take down large groups of mobs as they both have fairly long casting times, cooldown but comes with huge damage.
4. Your main DPS skills that will take down the small mobs will be Frost Lance, Disintegrate and Frost Thorn as they all have decent damage, fast casting animations and short cooldowns.
Skill Setup and Rotation For PvP
Wizards are actually quite incredible in A3 Still Alive for PvP, especially in group settings because they have a large amount of stuns and CC while being able to do massive AOE damage. (Since you are a backline DPS and have an invincibility skill, we won't take any buffs to give us the "unstoppable" effect.
1. As always, start off with Maximize Spell to get the damage and cooldown reduction buff.
2. Use Frost Lance to bind an enemy.
3. Right away follow-up with Focused Disintegration to deal huge damage while lower their magical defence.
4. Quickly stun them with Electric Discharge before the bind from Frost Lance ends.
5. While they are stunned, use Meteor Shower on them to do huge damage and inflict interupt.
6. Now drop Meteor on them to stun them again and deal massive damage.
7. Finally, use Lightning Orb to silence them while you wait for your cooldowns to come back up.
8. Save Freezing Shield for an invincibility when you get jumped by multiple people or a high DPS player.
Character Stats Prioritisation
In A3 Still Alive, Wizards needs to have as much damage, critical damage and magic penetration as possible because they rely on heavy AOE burst in PvP and PvE so you can inflict as much damage as possible on your foes.
The main stats we are looking for in items, Apostle, Attributes, Shu and other areas:
Magical Crit. Damage Increase
Magical Crit. Success (You may not need this if you are using Veneone or Ellian as you will get a very sufficient crit rate boost from them)
Additional stats that can be helpful:
Physical or Magical DEF if you find yourself being too squishy
HP (Always a good stat to have - but with your invincibility skills, it might not be as important)
PvE or PvP Damage Increase
Decrease PvE or PvP damage taken
How You Will be Able to Add The Above Stats
Equip higher level magic stones in your gear.
Hunting codex that matches the stats you need.
Upgrading your Sanctuary with Red and Purple shards only.
Upgrading your Apostle Fragments. See Apostle Guide
Enhancing your Attribution Runes from Soul Linkers. See Attribution Guide
Finding gear with the right substats that matches the above stats.
Find the right Shu substats that matches what you need.
Enhance your passive skill for damage and crit. damage.
For the current end game (Level 120) you will want to aim to get Ancient or Legendary gear with yellow, green and purple sockets (for more magic damage, crit chance and crit damage) and 4-5 sub stats. You can get up to 3 sockets and 5 sub stats (see the stats section above).
You can craft gear in your guild hall or farm the end game equipment dungeons (S.S. Ivan B3 or Refuge of the Dead B2) for level 120 Legendary/Ancient items.
Similar to gear, you will want to farm Heroic/Ancient Accessories in equipment dungeon or pull for them from the Gacha (if you are a paid player). If you get your heroic accessories, you can upgrade them into Ancient accessories by combining 4 other heroics of the same type and do the same with Ancient to Legendary. Accessories have an accessory Substat that affects damage for either PvE or PvP - this is why you will need 2 sets of accessories. (One for PvP and one for PvE) You are looking for accessories with 3 sockets and 4 sub stats. For the best sub stats, refer to the stat section above.
