Why we play: It's just one of those game you can play hours on end with your friends and strangers online, accusing, lying, murdering and laughing with each other.

Game Description: Among Us is a murder mystery game where players are randomly picked as an impostor (killer) or crew mate. The game consists of impostors killing crew mates without others seeing and discussions with a voting system to try and pinpoint who the impostor/impostors are. Get ready to strategize, befriend, murder, deceive and defend in this casual game full of laughter and social interactions.

Team Fight Tactics

View the TFT GUIDE

Platform: iOS and Android (Cross play with League of Legends players on PC)

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in-game cosmetic purchases

Genre: Auto Chess and Strategy

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: TFT is a game of chance and strategy with constant updates to characters, skills and combos to keep you on your feet. The game can keep you playing for hours at a time since no game will be the same and you get to change up your strategy based on the hand you are dealt. Also we love that TFT feels like a casual relaxing auto play game while being extremely competitive at the same time.

Game Description: Based on the popular League of Legends mini game Team Fight Tactics, TFT mobile is an auto chess game where players are dealt a hand of characters that they must choose to keep or throw away to create combinations of synergy. The game has a large variety of item combinations, characters and skills and class combinations. There will be a learning curve to the game but once you get into it and try new strategies and builds, you won't be able to stop playing.

PUBG Mobile

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases

Genre: Battle Royale Shooter

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: PUBG Mobile is just one of those games I pick-up when I need a quick break and want to dive into a battle royale game of strategy, exploring, killing, trolling and socialising. PUBG Mobile is one of my favorite games to play with friends since you can come up with clever strategies and plays to win the match, not to mention all the laughter and intensity that comes with it. It's a classic and always will be!

Game Description: This is the classic PUBG battle royale experience but on your mobile device. Dive into a large deserted map with a hundred other players to explore, find gear, kill, team up, and use your environment to your advantage to be the last one to survive.

Genshin Impact

Platform: iOS and Android (also on PC, Switch, PS4 and Xbox one)

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases and gacha components

Genre: RPG

Multiplayer: Yes (But more tailored towards single player)

Why we play: Genshin Impact is one of the first console quality mobile RPGs that actually felt relaxing to play. I can hop on anytime to play and hop off without feeling any obligation or need to get stronger. It's just a pleasant experience to be able to do all your standard RPG things and feeling calm and enjoying the beautiful anime style environment.

Game Description: Genshin Impact is an anime style RPG in an open world that is more focused towards solo play to solve puzzles and defeat monsters. The game has a great combat mechanic allowing you to switch between 4 characters of your choice, each possessing 2 skills and weapons you chose to equip. The game does have multiplayer for co-op play which you need to unlock and is limited to a maximum of 4 players in one world.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: $10

F2P: No but it only has a one time purchase fee

Genre: Exploration/Adventure and Sandbox

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: Minecraft is one of my favorite games for when I just need to escape from the real world. I come to the Overworld with my friends to go on fun adventures, gather resources, build whatever we want and share lots of laughter and memories.

Game Description: Minecraft pocket edition/mobile is the exact port of the original Minecraft; a 3D sandbox game that has no real purpose other than giving you an open world to do whatever you and your friends want. If you can look past the pixelated visuals then Minecraft Pocket Edition will give you countless hours of play to build amazing projects, explore your creativity, meet friends and unlock achievements.

Brawl Stars

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases

Genre: 3v3 Topdown Shooter Arena (With other modes like battle royale)

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: We love playing Brawl Stars because it is easy to jump in and jump out to get our competitive gaming fix. I personally love the quick action and trying out new character skills. Be warned though, the games are quick to end but it is very addicting to queue up for another round.

Game Description: Brawl Stars is a casual multiplayer topdown shooting game. Continuous playing will allow you to unlock new modes beyond the 3v3 arena, unlock different characters, increasing your brawler stats and get into higher level competition.

Asphalt 9: Legends

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases

Genre: Arcade Racing

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: Although it is considered somewhat pay to win, it is by far the best racing experience I've ever had on mobile. It is a great racing experience with a lot of action, cool moves and physics defying driving. Asphalt 9 gives me all of my racing fix when I want to feel like Vin Diesel in the Fast and the Furious.

Shadowgun Wargames

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in-game cosmetic purchases

Genre: First Person Shooter

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: I am personally not the biggest mobile first person shooter game fan because of the difficulty in aiming precision and lackluster controls, but I really love Shadowgun Wargames. It is similar to the Overwatch and Valorant feeling but you won't die in 1 hit, allowing you to focus more on team strategies and positioning instead of a quick trigger finger.

Sky: Children of the Light

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases

Genre: RPG and Adventure

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: Sky: Children of the Light is just so relaxing! Everything from the graphics, soundtrack and gameplay makes it a very zen like experience. Sometimes I just open the game to fly around and explore different worlds when I want to get my mind off of things.

Legends of Runeterra

Platform: iOS and Android

Cost: Free

F2P: Yes with in app purchases

Genre: Cards

Multiplayer: Yes

Why we play: What can we say? Riot makes some darn good games! I enjoy playing Legends of Runeterra because of the variety in strategy and no game is ever the same. I also love the familiar character integrations from League of Legends, TFT and soon Wild Rift. I play at a fairly competitive level so it allows me to always explore new strategies and optimise my existing builds to beat my opponents, it is a game that gets you thinking even when you're not playing it.
