Featuring a large 6.67 inch screen, the phone can run all of the latest mobile games including Asphalt 9, PUBG mobile, and Call of Duty Mobile on the highest settings with no frame rate problems. The phone comes in a 64GB version and a 128GB version, we strongly recommend getting the 128GB version for the 6GB of ram. The phone is a steal for its price and surpasses all expectations for a less known brand.

Bottom Line: The Pixel 4a does not have many bells and whistles but it definitely has what you need to run the latest games on a phone. It also comes with a very impressive camera despite just having the one lens. We did notice a bit of frame drops during heavy combat in PUBG and Fortnite on the highest settings but when we were running graphics on normal, it performed just fine. If you are looking for a budget friendly reliable phone for day to day use and frequently gaming, the Pixel 4a will definitely do the trick!

Rear Camera: 64 MP f/1.8 main + 12 MP f2.2 + 5 MP f/2.4 + 5 MP f/2.2

Front Camera: 32 MP f/2.2

Bottom Line: The A71 just made the $500 budget mark and is probably the highest game performance phone on this list. Although this is considered a mid-tier phone, it can do everything a high end phone can. It has an incredibly sleek design with a large 6.7 inch screen and a top notch camera set, it's more than you need in an everyday phone. The A71 boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 with 8 GBs of ram which makes the phone more than optimal for running the latest games on high performance. If the $499 price tag makes the cut for you, this is a no brainer of a purchase.

5. Poco F2 Pro (Hidden GEM)

Price: $416

OS: Android

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

Screen Size: 6.67 inch Full HD+ 1,080 x 2,400 resolution

RAM/Memory: 8GB

Storage: 128GB with Micro SD Expansion slot

Battery: 4700mAh with 30W Quick Charge

Rear Camera: 64 MP f/1.9 main + 5 MP f2.2 + 13 MP f/2.4 + 2 MP f/2.4

Front Camera: 20 MP f/2.2

Bottom Line: Poco F2 Pro really caught us by surprise as it's supposed to be a mid-range phone but its performance and camera is surpassing some of the higher end phones. It can easily compete with phones over the $1,000 mark even though it costs just above $400. The reason is because the phone cut some of the bells and whistles that are unnecessary for gamers and day to day use which, in my opinion, works out quite well. I am surprised not many people have this phone, it truly is a hidden gem! Also as a bonus, the front camera pops up from the top of the phone so you get a phone screen experience with no cut outs. The Poco F2 Pro can run all of your latest mobile games on the highest settings with smooth performance, the large 6.67 inch screen is wonderful as well. I highly recommend this one!

6. iPhone SE (2020)

View iPhone SE 2020 on Amazon USA

Price: $500

OS: iOS 13

Processor: A13 Bionic

Screen Size: 4.7 inch 750 x 1,334 resolution

RAM/Memory: 3GB

Storage: 128GB

Battery: 1821mAh

Rear Camera: 12 MP f/1.8

Front Camera: 7 MP f/2.2

Bottom Line: The iPhone SE 2020 edition is a great phone for those of you who love the smaller size phones considering the phone has a 4.7 inch display. (For those of you who are used to phones with over 6 inches, avoid this one) If the screen size doesn't bother you, then this is possibly one of the best phones for gaming in general. As it has the same beast A13 processor as the iPhone 11 while powering a much smaller resolution display, basically any game you play can be played at max settings no problem for the upcoming years.

7. Moto G8+ Plus

Price: $179.99 USD

OS: Android

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 665

Screen Size: 6.3 inch Full HD+ 1,080 x 2,280 resolution.

RAM/Memory: 4GB

Storage: 64GB

Battery: 4000mAh with 15W Quick Charge

Rear Camera: 48 MP f/1.7 main + 16 MP f2.2 + 5 MP f/2.2

Front Camera: 25 MP f/2.0

Bottom Line: The Moto G8+ is by far one of the most affordable phones out there for its quality and performance. To be honest, if you are just using this for every day use, it won't feel very different than a typical flagship phone from one of the other big players. It has a great camera and screen, good battery life and charging speeds with some nice sounding stereo speakers. One down fall of this phone is that it cannot play some of your high demanding games on the highest setting. However if you are looking to play with regular settings, this phone can run the games like Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile and others no problem.

8. Realme 6 Pro

Price: $325 USD

OS: Android

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G

Screen Size: 6.6 inch Full HD+ 1,080 x 2,400 resolution.

RAM/Memory: 8GB

Storage: 128GB with Micro SD Expansion slot

Battery: 4300mAh with 30W Quick Charge

Rear Camera: 64 MP f/1.8 main + 12 MP f2.5 + 8 MP f/2.3 + 2 MP f/2.4

Front Camera: 16 MP f/2.1 + 8 MP f/2.2

Bottom Line: If you were to ask me if there was a mid-range smart phone made just for gaming, I would say Realme 6 Pro is just that. Combining the impressive Snapdragon 720G, 90HZ fluid display and 8 GBs makes the phone a high performer, allowing it to run every game you can think of currently out on Android at full performance mode with no hiccups. Unlike some of the other mid-tier phones around the $500 mark, this phone costs only $325 and performs as well as phones over $1000.

Our Recommendation

If you want a phone for everyday use but also do some hardcore gaming for long hours on high performance, then pretty much all of the phones listed above will serve your purpose. However, comparing cost vs. what you get, we definitely recommend the Redmi 9 Note Pro, Realme 6 Pro and Poco F2 Pro as the winners. We don't really understand why their cost are so low for what they give you, potentially it's because they aren't part of the more well known brands so they can't markup their phones as much as Apple or Samsung.

Hope you all enjoyed our list of the best affordable mobile gaming phones, we will update this list as more phones enters the market. Please share this guide with those looking to purchase a gaming device on a budget!
